O God, stop the mechanization of our minds. Soften our hearts so that we may turn away from greed, apathy, and selfishness. Return to us our divinely given intuition, emotion, empathy, and awe. May we embody the fruits of the Spirit and become like little children and in sheer joy enter the luminous kingdom of heaven. Amen!
Yes!
And awomen!
I thought of you so much today as I walked through the Sonoran Desert Museum of AZ. I recalled your class in the woods, teaching wonder and workings of various flora all around us.
I'm so honored you were thinking about me out in the Sonoran Desert. It truly is a magical place - I was there about ten years ago at one of the gardens. Huge agave everywhere. Amazing - so different from The Puget Sound. I suppose you're drying out...ahhh... the dry desert heat is healing. I'm so glad you came on my first wonder Walk - you all taught me that I can in fact be a foraging guide!
Beautifully said, thank you. I highly recommend "The Cosmic Serpent" by Jeremy Narby - he chronicles his journey from a scientist with a mechanistic world view to a believer in the interconnected intelligence inherent in all of life.
I found this to be gorgeous and powerful, and eerily (beautifully!) akin to what I have been musing and writing about myself. Thank you for putting such eloquent words to it all. And for your heart for creation. You are nurturing wonder in us all.
How interesting that our thoughts are in similar places. I think it's a sign that this message is ready to be received. I hesitated to publish this since it's a bit controversial... but the feedback I've gotten has been only positive. So go for it!
Beautiful, thank you for writing this and sharing. It was so helpful!
I'm so glad! And thank you for commenting.
One of the most truly remarkable essays I have ever read. So so thought-provoking and necessary. Thank you.
Wow, that is quite the accolade. Thank you! And thank you for helping to spread the message with the restack. I really appreciate it.
I'm writing a follow-up piece on rekindling our sense of awe. So stay tuned!
